In Olden Review Days

Mistakes are made.

There's been a lot of discussion recently about clueless old critics and their outdated references. I have an all-timer of an old-person error in my memory.

When Return of the Jedi came out, the Irish Times review said that the bad guy in the first act was named "Jebba Hull."

Obviously there was no Google in those days. Probably no press kits in Ireland. But maybe an out-of-context copy editor thought it was a reference to this.

Because my elementary school teacher, who insisted the letter "c" could never be followed by another "c," would correct my essay about my pet cat. She said her name absolutely had to be spelled "Chewbacka."
